We’re looking to recruit a production manager to join one the leading and fastest growing plants (in their sector) in the UK. The business was set up in ’08 and has grown by 20% each year since.

Reporting to MD, you will plan, direct and monitor all production activities to maximise output and efficiency. Targeted to meet production specifications and schedules, including volume, cost, waste, safety and quality standards. Further responsibilities will include: –

• Leading, evaluating and developing a team of shift managers and supervisors.
• Promoting, developing and overseeing health and safety.
• Developing and implementing manufacturing schedules and procedures, allocating labour and capital resources.
• Analysing manufacturing, maintenance and malfunction records to identify problems, and recommending solutions that will improve productivity.
• Planning of maintenance downtimes
• Taking part in and leading, lean and continuous improvements projects

The Person:

Requires a mentally tough, agile, individual who is able to think very quickly on their feet. Factory consists of around 20 large machines and managing the flow of work to ensure continuity of flow and optimisation of the available space is a must.

The operation runs just in time. Working to tight deadlines and production is close to capacity currently.

• Experience of working to ISO9001 and ISO 140001
• Significant production management experience gained
• Excellent leadership and motivational skills, with a proven track record of success.
• Experience of coaching and developing shift managers
• Good knowledge of health and safety.
